Today is all about the Eiffel Tower...

This is my photo tribute to the Eiffel Tower, which was the focus of our day today. We woke up, I went to the laundromat (managed to use a french washer and dryer, and even helped a French lady figure out how to do it!) and Courtney went to the post office (Scott, there will be a package coming to our house so we wouldn't have to carry some of our pruchases through the rest of our trip). That is, if it makes it to our house, apparently Courtney had some language difficulties at the post office, and our package could end up in SOUTH America, who knows.

Next we walked to the Eiffel Tower, and went up to the top!! Great experience, it was surreal. Can you believe when they first built this thing, Parisians saw it as an eyesore. It IS massive, but pretty in a cold steel kind of way. =)

Next we went SHOPPING!

This evening was our river cruise and dinner (five course meal with bottle of champagne and wine) down the Seine River to see the City of Lights all lit up! Saw the Eiffel Tower when it sparkled with thousands of lights (they set it so it does that on the hour). See if you can tell the difference in the pictures... Saw Notre Dame and the "mini" Statue of Liberty and the rest of Paris all lit up.

A great final day in Paris...off to Switzerland tomorrow!!
